SUMMARY

The Race Director is responsible for managing all aspect of the organization of Just Run races. Our main event is called the CandyRun5K. We are presently searching for an amazing candidate who has the passion, the commitment and the desire to create magic and the best experience possible for all participants at our events.

You will be asked to travel across country (Canada or US depending what is your citizenship), work flexible hours, days, nights and weekend during the peak race season (April thru September). You will report directly to the Executive VP of business development. RESPONSIBILITIES

- MANAGE A MOBILE TEAM (10 to 15 employees) to execute the events, temporary staff and volunteers.
- CREATE WORK PLANS AND TIMELINES, oversee event financial management and post-event reporting.
- ORGANIZE AND MANAGE PRE-RACE LOGISTICS, manage setup and tear down activities, coordinate event day.
- MAKE ALL TRAVEL RESERVATIONS AND ACCOMMODATIONS for mobile coordinator’s team.
- NEGOTIATE AGREEMENTS WITH LOCAL REGULATORY ORGANIZATIONS (re: Police - Firefighters - EMT).
- OBTAIN ALL PERMITS AND AUTHORIZATIONS for the event.
- NEGOTIATE AND DEVELOP A RELATIONSHIP with different companies for rental of equipment, barricades and other logistical elements or vehicles.
- ORGANIZE LOGISTICS FOR THE TRANSPORTATION of equipment and material between each event.

- PERSONIFY FUN THEMED 5K RACES and work in tandem with management to coordinate multiple events in your territory.
- ACT AS LIAISON between sponsors, venues, service providers, suppliers, charity organisation and local community.
- EVENT PLANNING, design and production while managing all project delivery elements within time limits.
- ENSURE COMPLIANCE with insurance, legal, health and safety regulations for all events according to location.
- NEGOTIATE AND MONITOR CONTRACTS with multiple vendors and partners as to ensure the success of the event.

PROFILE

- HIGH LEVELS OF customer service and willingness to help others; employees, participants, sponsors, etc.
- AWARE OF the logistical, administrative and financial implications of business decisions and agreements.
- STRONG ATTENTION TO detail, ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
- EXHIBIT PROFESSIONALISM AT all times and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

REQUIREMENTS

- BA or BS Degree.
- 3 to 5 yrs experience in Events Management.
- Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe products.
- Excellent oral, written communication in English. French or Spanish would be an advantage.
- Outstanding communication skills, ability to multi-task and solid organizational skills, detail oriented, adaptable and able to make efficient decisions and delegate to your team.
- Working flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends & holidays.
- Regular travel (air & road) and short stay at each event location all over the country during peak race season (April thru September).
