How do I register for the race?

Create a free account to purchase race tickets at us.thecandyrun5k.com/ by choosing the race you’d like to take part in. If you aren’t able to register on the website, please email our team at info@justrun.ca

How much does it cost to register?

The cost for registration varies according to your registration selection. Please consult the price chart and options on our website: us.thecandyrun5k.com/

Please note that prices vary according to promotions.

What is included with registration?

Besides the amazing atmosphere, free photos, candies, participant’s drawstring bag & medal and the sweetest run. Remember that your race bib is mandatory so don’t forget to wear it to access the event.

Are visitors allowed and what is the admission cost for non-racers

All visitors are welcome to come encourage your friends and family members in the festival area and it’s free of charge.

Can I register on site?

Yes, of course you can! Just head out to our check-in area on race day and we will get you all set up. Note that only cash and credit card payments are permitted. Visit the website to view onsite registration fees: us.thecandyrun5k.com/.

Will there be promo codes for the race?

Make sure to follow our Facebook page to get exclusive promo codes!

I can’t find the email containing my race registration information. How can I get a copy?

At any time, you can consult your purchases by logging in to your account using your email address at events.com. If you did not receive a registration email after you signed up, please check your spam folder first and if it’s not there, write to us at info@justrun.ca.

Do I need to print a paper copy of my race ticket?

No, let’s save our planet instead! You can simply present the electronic version on your smartphone.

Is there a minimum age for the race?

No. Children under the age of 3 have the option of participating for free (this registration does not include candy, bib or medal, however) or can choose the regular child registration. All participants must be registered in advance.

I’m a single adult with 2 children, but there is no option to register with 2 children. How do I register the second child?

Our insurance requires 1 adult per child. You may register an additional child, but under your liability. Please send your request to info@justrun.ca.

What is the difference between participating as an individual and a team?

The only difference is at registration: you can choose a team name to experience this memorable event together! Once you’ve registered as a team, you can run the race together or break off from the group to go at you own pace. It’s up to you!

Can we only create a team of 4 people or do we have to join an existing team?

There is no minimum or maximum number of team members.

Are there group rates available?

Yes. Group rates are available for teams of 15 participants or more. Please contact us at info@justrun.ca.

There is an error on my ticket. Can I change it?

Yes. Please write to us at info@justrun.ca.

I can no longer participate in the race. Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, as indicated in the terms of sale, refunds are not available.

A-You can, however, transfer your registration to another runner, free of charge. Just send us the runner’s full name, email address, age and shirt size. 

B-You can also transfer your registration to a different JustRun race of equal or lesser value (if the registration fee is higher, you can pay the difference).

For either of these options, please send the information to info@justrun.ca.

What are the deadlines for modifications?

Participants can make FREE changes to their registration directly in their account up to 2 weeks before the race. After that, modifications will only be possible onsite for a fee of $15. To modify your registration in person, you must arrive at least 1 hour BEFORE your start time.

I can’t participate. How can I transfer my ticket to another participant?

You need to send you request, along with the new participant’s name, email address and registration information (full name, age, shirt size if applicable) to info@justrun.ca.

If I get injured before the race, can I transfer my bib to someone else?

Yes, this is possible. Send your proof of registration to your replacement—they’ll need to present it at registration on the morning of the race, along with their payment of the $15 transfer fee (cash only).

Why is there a charge for a last-minute transfer?

These fees apply in order to support the administrative costs of updating our participant data base, which includes transferring the official list to the medical team.  We offer free transfers up to 2 weeks before the race in order to limit last minute changes.

Is The CandyRun 5K a difficult race?

Not really—it depends on you! You’ll have nothing to prove and there’s no need to push your limits. If you want to run fast, go for it! If you want to jog, or walk, that’s fine too. The only thing that matters is that you have fun!

Do I need to be an experienced runner to participate?

Not at all! The CandyRun 5K is a fun run. There’s no timer and no competitive pressure. It’s open to everyone: young and not-so-young, fast paced or chill, parents with children, grandparents and grand kids, friends, coworkers, neighbors…all are welcome! Our goal is to bring people together to participate in an unforgettable experience.

Can I run with a child in a stroller?

Yes! Strollers are welcome!

Can I participate on a bike, scooter or other wheeled item?

For security reasons, we cannot allow any kind of wheeled ride-ons in The CandyRun 5K.

Will the race be cancelled in case of rain?

As long as the security of our participants is not at risk, the race will take place rain or shine. Please plan your clothing accordingly.

Are dogs allowed on the site?

For security reasons, no dogs (either on a leash or in a carrier) will be permitted on the site or in the welcome area.

Where can I consult the race map?

As soon as the race map becomes available, it will be posted on our website us.thecandyrun5k.com, as well as on our Facebook page. You will also find a map in the upcoming edition of your Runners Guide.

What refreshments are offered during the race?

We serve water at 2 moments during the race, and thematic treats at various stations.

We have food allergies; can we still participate in the race?

Participation is at your own risk as candies and snacks offered may have been in contact with allergens.

Is there a time limit to complete the race?

The CandyRun 5K is not timed and there is no time limit to complete the run.

Can I wear a costume?

Yes! We encourage you to dress up for the run!

What payment methods are accepted at the race site?

You can make your race day payments by cash or credit card.

What time should I arrive on race day?

You should arrive 1 hour before your race starts to sign in, get your t-shirt (if applicable), familiarize yourself with the race area, and warm up!

Is there a storage area for my personal belongings?

No, we do not have a bag check (or storage area) onsite. Please leave all valuable at home or in your car. All you'll need is your friends, your phone and a card to purchase some souvenirs at The CandyRun 5k store onsite. 

What happens if I arrive late for my start time?

We ask that you respect the start time as is indicated on your ticket. We will be doing small waves every 2-3 minutes so everyone can go have fun and enjoy the course. We will make sure you’re on course with all your friends if you do arrive late. Please note that if you are late, you’ll be able to start with the next wave of runners.

What happens if something goes wrong during the race (for example if I don’t feel well or if I become injured…)?

We got you covered! Our medical team will be present all along the course and will be able to provide you with immediate assistance.

Will the t-shirts be the same as last year’s?

There is only one official t-shirt model. 

Will I be able to buy a race t-shirt on site?

Yes, we will have a store onsite. T-shirts will go on sale the morning of the race after all participants have signed in to ensure that participants’ orders are fulfilled.

I chose a t-shirt size when I registered. Can I exchange it on site if it doesn’t fit?

The race t-shirts are produced as ordered and as such cannot be exchanged on race day. Exchanges could be possible only after race starts according to remaining sizes; as such we cannot guarantee that the desired replacement size will be available.

Where can I consult the size guide for race t-shirts?

T-shirts are unisex standard fit and available in sizes from X-Small to 5X-Large. We have only one size of shirt for the kid’s tickets that is size 6-8 kids. 

I forgot to pick up my t-shirt at the race. Can I have it mailed to me?

Race t-shirts and other purchases must be claimed with race bibs up to one hour before your start time. No shipments will be made.

Can I order a print of my race photo?

No, but a free download of race photos is available. We will sort and treat all race images. When they become available online, we will send you a personalized link by email and we will publish a link on Facebook.

Where will photos be taken?

Rest assured our photographers work hard to produce thousands of images at every race. However, we do not necessarily photograph each runner.

I don’t live close to the race—what are the best options for accommodation nearby?

We recommend you consult accommodation sites like Hotels.com, Expedia.ca or others to find the best option and rate for you.

Will there be a 2021 edition?

Next year’s race calendar has not yet been published. Make sure you follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get the latest news on upcoming races.

How can I volunteer for a race?

You can sign up to volunteer at registration for the race you’re interested in. If you encounter any difficulty, please visit the website: us.thecandyrun5k.com/volunteers.

Can volunteers run the race?

Sorry but they can’t. They are there to help the organizer to make sure the participants have the best experience during the race.
